Although I specialise in Painting, I take commissions for poems, book cover designs, murals as well as just drawing in my spare time. Below is a selection of some Illustration work.
In March 2012, myself and three other coursemates were given the opportunity to complete a collaborative mural with the children at Penrynchoch Primary School, Penrynchoch, Wales. We worked with the children over the space of three days and came up with a ‘seasons’ theme.
In April 2012, As part of my Illustration module at Aberystwyth University, I completed a series of eight 30cm x 40cm watercolour on paper studies based on the children’s poem ‘All My Great Excuses’ by Kenn Nesbitt. My friend who is a Primary School Teacher in Essex had my illustrations made into a book for his P6 class. Some of the finished illustrations are shown below.
I started on my homework
but my pen ran out of ink.
My hamster ate my homework.
My computer’s on the blink.
I accidentally dropped it
in the soup my mom was cooking.
My brother flushed it down the toilet
when I wasn’t looking.
My mother ran my homework
through the washer and the dryer.
An airplane crashed into our house.
My homework caught on fire.
Tornadoes blew my notes away.
Volcanoes struck our town.
My notes were taken hostage
by an evil killer clown.
Some aliens abducted me.
I had a shark attack.
A pirate swiped my homework
and refused to give it back.
I worked on these excuses
so darned long my teacher said,
“I think you’ll find it’s easier
to do the work instead.”
Below was a part of a trio of Watercolour Illustrations for the Story “The Frog King” by Brothers Grimm. They were completed in February 2012, and are 60cm x 80cm.
